The South by Southwest Music Festival is obviously a good place to discover new bands, but it’s trade show also serves as a great showcase for up and coming technology. So here a few…

They only went live this month. Streamserf offers realtime monitoring of all radio stations. Get a 30 day report on your band’s airplay at anytime. More to come.
Now that the new plan and new sales tool are available, we don’t plan on any new features for a while. That doesn’t mean there won’t be improvements. The next release will be all about performance and stability - nothing sexy for now.
We’re trying out a new ticket system as one of several steps to improving support and customer service. The new system will help us to answer every email better and faste. I hope… Thats certainly the goal.
We know that some people like nimbit because they can actually reach a person by phone. (There are some online services that you simply cannot call.) And I know many of you appreciate the efforts of Mike, Dave and Rick to name a few. We’ll soon be increasing our ability to answer more calls, as there are times of the day when the call volume exceeds our answering capacity.
Lastly, look for an expanded, reorganized and searchable nimbit.com in mid-March, with the goal naturally, of making it easier to find any information about out offerings…
A new nimbit plan called Retail + scheduled to be launched this week. The new features to be included are the branded store (nimbit SKIN), and the multi-artist account.
The next version of the nimbit store tool will be called nimbit Skin. (Wasn’t my choice… but, whatever… Do you like it?)
Essentially, it will take the store capabilities of nimbit OMT and present the products as full size page that can be customized to fit any site. The biggest new feature is a branded checkout. The checkout page itself will still switch over to nimbit’s server, but it can maintain the design of the original site. It appears seemless to the user.
Examples are now online at tomrush.com, carrienewcomer.com and ellispaul.com right now.
Arlen is another well-respected musician I’m proud to work with. He’s played w Dylan, Paul Simon and many others. (Most guitar players know him from the “Hot Licks” guitar series.) He’s put out a new CD w Levon Helm and we just re-skinned his site accordingly. Havent listened to it yet so I cant comment on it, but his previous release - the all instrumental “Landslide” - is great. Check out ArlenRoth.com
It’s always an honor to oversee the new site of well-respected artist such as the Blind Boys of Alabama. If you’re not familiar, go to http://blindboys.com/sounds.html and listen. (Audio player is 3rd party app called Wimpy Player that we skinned). They are the real deal.
The redesign is in support of their new album. It contains no uncalled for bells and whistles. It’s what’s appropriate for such a down to earth artist - no BS. The Blind Boys have been with nimbit for over 4 years. They use our CMS to manage most of the pages on their site. It does bum me out that nimbit is not yet selling anything for them. We’re working with the label - hopefully that will still happen.
We’ve been testing new options for nimbit Pro users who seek more robust spam filtering. By opening a Goggle Apps account, email for any domain can be routed through their mail server, and their spam filtering is fantastic. Lets just say, they many more millions available to solve spam problems than we do. It is not difficult to set this up. More details to come on this as well…
The nimbit warehouse is getting full, and will only get fuller as distributors such as Awarestore drop physical goods and go 100% digital. We’re considering warehouse fees for artists with huge inventory levels.
Recently there has been a rash of inquiries about multi-artist accounts. That feature has moved up the nimbit priority list. More when a new plan gets nearer.
